Quetta: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta organized a large-scale destruction ceremony on June 10, 2026, during which seized banned, smuggled, and expired goods worth approximately Rs 4.6 billion were destroyed.
The destroyed items included a wide range of confiscated goods such as cigarettes, betel nuts, China salt, and other prohibited or expired products that had been seized by Customs authorities during various anti-smuggling operations conducted over time.
The destruction exercise was carried out as part of the Customs Department’s ongoing efforts to curb smuggling, protect public health, and enforce trade regulations across the country.
The ceremony was held under the supervision of Collector Customs Enforcement Quetta Shahid Jan and Chief Collector Customs Balochistan Basit Maqsood Abbasi, who reaffirmed the department’s commitment to taking strict action against smuggling networks and safeguarding the national economy.
Customs officials stated that such operations will continue to ensure effective enforcement of customs laws and to prevent the circulation of illegal and harmful goods in the market
